Jean’s Playhouse is proud to announce a screening of “The Big Short” as part of our first annual Winter Film Series. See some Old Favorites and more current movies on our Big Screen in Lincoln, across the street from RiverWalk Resort at Loon Mountain. Films from such categories as Classics, Americana and Indie will play one weekend a month. All films will play at 7:30 pm; admission is $8 for all ages.
“The Big Short,” a 2015 release, will play on Saturday, March 4. Four denizens in the world of high-finance predict the credit and housing bubble collapse of the mid-2000s, and decide to take on the big banks for their greed and lack of foresight. “The Big Short” stars Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, Steve Carrell and Ryan Gosling.
Next, join us for the family favorite, “Jumanji,” with the late Robin Williams on Saturday, April 8. When two kids play a magical board game, they release a man trapped for decades and a host of dangers that can buy ativan no prescription only be stopped by finishing the game. The last film of our first annual Winter Film Series will be shown on Saturday, May 6. “The Theory of Everything” is a look at the relationship between the famous physicist Stephen Hawking and his wife. Calling all actor-types and local theatre enthusiasts! Be a part of our next Playhouse Players community theatre show, The Art of Dining, performing May 19, 20 & 21. This comedy by Tina Howe tells the story of Cal and Ellen, the owners and sole staff of a small, elegant gourmet restaurant. Cal’s main preoccupation is paying back the $75,000 it cost to start it up, which means packing in the customers, while Chef Ellen is preoccupied with the food’s quality… and stopping Cal from sampling all the ingredients. Meanwhile, the diners act out their own private dramas over dinner and their conversations are exquisite burlesques of contemporary attitudes. Auditions will be at Jean’s Playhouse on Sunday, March 19 from 3-5 pm and Tuesday, March 21 from 6-8 pm. Interested performers need attend only one date of auditions.
