James Montgomery is an American blues musician, best known as the lead singer, blues harp player, front man, and bandleader of The James Montgomery Blues Band. Montgomery collaborates with many star performers and recording artists. He is also the past President of The New England Blues Society.

While attending Boston University, where he earned a degree in English literature, Mr. Montgomery started the James Montgomery Band. During his junior year, he was hired by the Colwell-Winfield Blues Band to play harmonica and tour with Janis Joplin. His harmonica playing, singing and energetic stage show led to his band gaining a reputation as one of the hottest bands on the New England music scene. James Montgomery was signed by Capricorn Records to a multi-album deal and released his first vinyl LP album titled The James Montgomery Band – First Time Out in 1973. Montgomery has toured with many artists, including Aerosmith, The J. Geils Band, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, The Allman Brothers, The Steve Miller Band, The Johnny Winter Band, The Blues Brothers with (Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd) and others. www.jamesmontgomery.com

As a special treat, James will be playing with special guest Derick Dyer, best known as Tina Turner’s Sax Player and his work with the Joe Cocker Band.

Deric Dyer was born in Ireland and lived in England until 1967, and then Bermuda. In Spring of 1975, after meeting Cliff Goodwin and joining the American Standard Band, Deric moved to America. Just two years later, ASB would become Joe Cocker‘s band. Playing in Joe’s horn section with the legendary Bobby Keys, Deric quickly learned the art of Rock/R&B sax. Deric’s next life-changing opportunity came in January 1987, when he had the good fortune to audition for Tina Turner. He spent an amazing two years as part of her Break Every Rule World Tour.

Rounding out this incredible ensemble is Tim Archimbald from the Peter Wolfe Band on Bass, as well as AJ Valee and Chuck Farrell from Once an Outlaw, on Drums and Guitar.
