NCCA Jean’s Playhouse presents different kinds of performance acts, including comedians, cover bands, films, magicians, and the like. If you are interested in being considered, please send your materials to Executive Artistic Director, Joel Mercier, at jmercier@jeansplayhouse.com.

Please note, we get a lot of submissions and can’t always respond to every email, but we will reach out if we have open slots and think your act would be something that resonates with our audience base.

We also tend to book 6 -12 month out.

Each year, we hire professional out-of-state performers for our March musical, our Summer Repertory, and our December production of A Christmas Carol.

Mainstage Summer Actors

• We hire 10 - 12 actors, typically ages 20 - 30, as our core summer company.

• Stipend: $275/week + shared rustic, dorm-style housing.

• Dates: June through August

Acting Interns

• We hire 4 - 6 younger college students to perform ensemble and smaller roles.

• Stipend: $150/week + shared rustic, dorm-style housing.

• Dates: June through August

• Additional responsibilities: Help Facilititate and teach our one-week Broadway Bound summer camp, and occasionally understudy principal roles.

Guest Actors

• Depending on the show, we may hire additional experienced actors to portray more mature roles. Only non-union please.

• Stipend: $375/week + shared condo or suite.

• Dates: June through August

Local Community Actors

For our Professional Summer Season, we do sometimes have opportunities for local NH adult or child actors. Specifics will be posted on this page once the season is announced.

A NOTE ON CASTING LOCAL ACTORS: We love having local actors in our shows, however, it is important for all auditioners to recognize that we put shows together in only 7-14 days and hold day-time rehearsals. If cast, you must have the flexibility in your schedule to attend daytime rehearsals Monday through Saturday.

IMPACT Touring Children’s Theatre Actors

• IMPACT is our Touring Children’s Theatre which travels to different locations each week performing an original musical fairytale for six weeks. We hire five Actors to perform these shows.

• Stipend: $275/week + housing.

• Dates: July - August (7 weeks)

Additional Opportunities:

• One IMPACT Actor to double as Music Director (basic piano + leadership; shows use tracks). +$50/week.

• Possible IMPACT Choreographer position. +$50/week.

How to Audition

General Expectations

• Strong time management (shows are built in 7–14 days).

• Self-motivated, collaborative, communicative team members.

• Willingness to work some late nights/long hours during tech weeks.

Especially during the summer, we work very hard to ensure a greaexperience and not burn out our staff, however, it is important that applicants understand that tech positions often have to pull late nights and long hours during tech weeks.

Musicians participate in tech and play 3–5 performances per week. Instrumentation varies on the show.

Part-Time Staff

NCCA is always interested in either season, or year-round, very flexible, part-time employees for the Box Office, House Management, and Concessions!

Box Office Associate: Seeking local part-time persons to work box office shifts. Candidates should have excellent people skills, organizational skills, and be good with computers. Duties include ticketing software and data entry, as well as phone and walk-in sales. Need summer coverage Wednesdays through Saturdays, and fall / winter coverage Fridays and Saturdays. $12 / hour.

Concessions: Seeking Concession Bartenders - No experience needed! Candidates sell packaged foods, beverages, and a limited alcohol menu during pre-show and intermission at our performances, as well as clean up afterwards and restock for the next day. Candidates will be taught how to make simple drinks (mostly shots & mixers, such as a rum and coke), as well as how to use our Square Cash Register system. Must be 21 or older. $12 / hour, plus tips.

Assistant House Managers: Seeking local part-time persons to work as House Managers for shows. Candidates should have excellent people skills, organizational skills, and be good at problem solving. Duties include greeting guests, supporting the Box Office, Concessions, and Ushers when needed, working with the Production Stage Manager to ensure the show opens on time and the intermission stays on schedule, be the point person for any guest issues during the show, shut down the lobby and lock up. This is on a show by show basis. $60 per show.
