A New Hampshire native, Joel Mercier earned his degree in Music Theatre from the Hartt School and went on to work extensively in New York City and at theaters across the country, including Goodspeed Opera House (CT), Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MA), Northern Stage (VT), Idaho Shakespeare Festival (ID), Great Lakes Theater (OH), American Music Theatre (PA), and NY venues such as The Duplex, Westbeth Off-Broadway, and Nokia Theatre Times Square.

An award-winning performer, music director, and composer, Mercier has appeared on stage in dozens of character roles, conducted in orchestra pits nationwide, and directed both classic and new works. His honors include multiple NH Theatre Awards, BroadwayWorld Awards, the Cleveland Critics Award, and recognition for his work at NCCA with the Union Leader’s 40 Under 40 Business Award in 2019.

He returned to New Hampshire in 2010, working as Artistic Associate with the New London Barn Playhouse and Guest Artist at Dartmouth College, and has since collaborated with local organizations including the Palace Theatre, Winnipesaukee Playhouse, Saint Anselm College, and NH Theatre Factory. Since 2017, he has served as Artistic Leader of NCCA, where his directing credits include Beauty and the Beast, Titanic, Cabaret, Into the Woods, Clue, Jersey Boys, and the annual A Christmas Carol: A Musical Ghost Story, which he also adapted and composed.

John Moynihan has been an arts enthusiast as long as he can remember. From his early days of belting out Disney’s Sing-A-Long songs, he had performed in nearly 50 productions prior to shifting his focus to Arts Administration.

Beginning in 2010, John moved behind the curtain. He began with Prescott Park Arts Festival in Portsmouth, NH, and in 2017, he was named the Executive Director of the Firehouse Center for the Arts in Newburyport, MA, where he remained until 2024.

After a brief detour from arts and culture, John is thrilled to be back where his true passion lies and even more excited to be joining the team at North Country Center for the Arts. Be sure to say hello when you see him out and about – and you will surely be seeing him!

Andrew Stuart is a professional artist, designer, and technical director based in New Hampshire’s Western White Mountains. Originally from Massachusetts, Andrew has spent nearly thirty years contributing his artistic talents to various theaters in New Hampshire, the Greater Boston area, Western Massachusetts, and New York, including Winnipesaukee Playhouse, Andy’s Summer Playhouse, The Huntington Theatre, Speakeasy Stage Co., Lyric Stage, Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory, Opera Boston, Boston Early Music Festival, Commonwealth Shakespeare, New Century Theatre (Northampton), Chester Theatre, Luna Stage (NYC), Irish Repertory Theatre (NYC), and the Chocolate Factory (NYC).

In addition to his work in the theatre industry, Andrew has also had the privilege of designing several restaurants, retail spaces, exhibits, and established a line of fine concrete décor and furniture, which is still sold in small galleries and shows around midcoast Maine. Jeanne Crowley has enjoyed a diverse career in sales and marketing, primarily within the technology and real estate industries in Massachusetts. Her work has consistently focused on delivering value to both clients and organizations. She began her career in international marketing, with time spent living and working in Tokyo and London, and has held roles in marketing communications, investor relations, and client management.

Alongside her corporate career, Jeanne has been actively involved in the Greater Boston theater community as both a producer and performer. She continues to perform professionally as a cabaret artist, with sold-out shows in Boston, Providence, and Provincetown.

Recently relocated to Lincoln, New Hampshire, Jeanne is excited to bring her passion for the arts and her commitment to exceptional customer service to Jean’s Playhouse and the North Country Center for the Arts.

Emily Nelson’s work spans opera, dance, and theatre, with costume designs for productions including Amahl and the Night Visitors, A Wind Cries Mary, Carmen, Don Quixote, Hello, Dolly!, Into the Woods, La Bohème, Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, Richard III, The Crucible, and The Other Shore, among many others. She has collaborated with directors such as Joel Hall, Francis Menotti, Beaumont Glass, and Ray Leaper.

Her designs have been seen in productions across the United States and on tour in Europe, earning praise in the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune. In addition to her work for the stage, Emily creates one-of-a-kind bags that reflect her passion for craftsmanship and design.
