“Ghost Light” Returns for 2025 – A Haunted House Infused with Immersive Theatre in the White Mountains of NH
Lincoln, NH – The North Country Center for the Arts at Jean’s Playhouse is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated Ghost Light Haunted Experience, back for its most ambitious season yet. Running for four weekends from Columbus Day Weekend through Halloween Weekend, October 10 – November 1, this beloved annual tradition promises to deliver an unforgettable Halloween adventure for both seasoned horror enthusiasts and first-time visitors alike.
Ghost Light transforms the entire Playhouse—and even its backyard—into a spine-chilling spectacle of eerie encounters and theatrical thrills. Guests embark on a forty-minute guided journey through a series of meticulously crafted scenes that combine immersive theatre, chilling special effects, professional actors, and detailed set designs, all woven together by a gripping narrative rooted in the ghostly tales of the theatre’s past.
“We are incredibly excited to bring Ghost Light back for 2025,” said creator and Executive Artistic Director, Joel Mercier. “Every year, we expand the story and layer in new characters, effects, and surprises to keep audiences on their toes. Unlike traditional haunted houses, where each room is separate, Ghost Light takes you on one continuous journey—a fully connected story that evolves as you move through the experience.”
When guests arrive, they are first greeted by Sylus Harrington, the eccentric museum curator, who introduces the chilling history of the theatre and the land it sits on. From there, the tour begins, taking small groups through the Playhouse’s twisting halls, shadowy backstage spaces, and outdoor grounds. Along the way, expect to encounter unsettling creatures, immersive theatrical effects, and the eerie presence of spirits determined to make their stories heard.
For 2025, Ghost Light runs weekends from Friday, October 10 through Saturday, November 1. Each tour is limited to fourteen guests and departs every twenty minutes from dusk until 10 PM.
