1995 Season

  • Dames at Sea

dames-at-seaA long-running hit off-Broadway that brought stardom to Bernadette Peters, this campy show is based on the nostalgia of Hollywood musicals of the 30’s. It’s big time New York, into which sweet little Ruby from a faraway Hometown, USA has come to make it big on Broadway. Ruby begins in the chorus, and by the end of the day, in true Hollywood fashion, Dick, another boy from Hometown, USA, saves her doomed Broadway show with a smash tune, as Ruby becomes a star on the deck of a battleship which just happens to be passing by.

  • The Wizard of Oz

wizard-of-oz-logoLittle Dorothy Gale of Kansas, like so many girls her age, dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world. Come join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel the universe of Dorothy’s imagination.

  • Much Ado About Nothing

Much_Ado_QuartoShakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing chronicles two pairs of lovers: Benedick and Beatrice (the main couple), and Claudio and Hero (the secondary couple). Although the young lovers Hero and Claudio provide much of the impetus for the plot, the courtship between the wittier, wiser lovers Benedick and Beatrice is what makes Much Ado About Nothing so memorable. Benedick and Beatrice argue with delightful wit, and Shakespeare develops their journey from antagonism to sincere love and affection with a rich sense of humor and compassion.

  • I Do! I Do!

idoThe show begins with Michael and Agnes on their wedding day. We watch as they go through their wedding night jitters, raise a family, and negotiate mid-life crises. Michael eventually admits to his infidelity, and although Agnes is angered by his actions, she forgives him and the couple reconciles. They re-discover how much they really need each other. Then, after 50 years of marriage, the couple leaves their house to the next pair of newlyweds.
