  • The Sound of Music

sound of musicThe Rodgers and Hammerstein Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, The Sound of Music, is based on Maria von Trapp’s autobiography. This family-oriented classic tells the tale of a young would-be nun who charms the hearts of her seven young charges as governess to a widowed naval Captain. Enjoy such musical standards as “My Favorite Things”, “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”, “Do-Re-Mi”, and the title number “Sound of Music”, and watch as Miss Maria gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain von Trapp- and the rest of the audience!

  • Brighton Beach Memoirs

brightenBrighton Beach Memoirs is Simon’s hilarious semi-autobiographical portrait of a Jewish-American family as seen through the eyes of a 15-year-old boy, Eugene Morris Jerome. Living with six other family members under one roof doesn’t afford young Eugene much privacy, but it does provide him with plenty of ammunition for his nascent career as a writer. The resulting coming-of-age story is an affectionate, thoroughly entertaining lesson in overcoming hard times with warmth, and humor.

  • The Comedy of Errors

firstfoliocomedyShakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors tells the story of two sets of identical twins accidentally separated at birth. Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant, Dromio of Syracuse, arrive in Ephesus, the home of their twin brothers, Antipholus of Ephesus and his servant, Dromio of Ephesus. When the Syracusans encounter the friends and families of their twins, a series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identities lead to wrongful beatings, a near-seduction, an arrest and false accusations of infidelity, theft and madness.

She abides by her father’s wishes at first, but Sir Joseph’s advocacy of the equality of humankind encourages Ralph and Josephine to overturn conventional social order. But, as in many of the Gilbert and Sullivan operas, a surprise disclosure changes things dramatically near the end of the story.

  • Dames at Sea

dames-at-seaA long-running hit off-Broadway that brought stardom to Bernadette Peters, this campy show is based on the nostalgia of Hollywood musicals of the 30?s. It’s big time New York, into which sweet little Ruby from a faraway Hometown, USA has come to make it big on Broadway. Ruby begins in the chorus, and by the end of the day, in true Hollywood fashion, Dick, another boy from Hometown, USA, saves her doomed Broadway show with a smash tune, as Ruby becomes a star on the deck of a battleship which just happens to be passing by.
