Yankee Humorist Fred Marple
Saturday, April 6 @ 7:30 PM

$16 General Admission

This show is rated G.

Fred Marple brings his one-man show of Yankee humor, music and assorted nonsense back to Jean’s Playhouse! Fred Marple is the unofficial spokesman for the mythical town of Frost Heaves, NH, and he’s on a one-man campaign to put Frost Heaves back on the map. “It’s a one-man crusade because everyone else has real jobs,” says Marple.

Fred Marple has appeared on New Hampshire Chronicle, on the radio and in the pages of NH Magazine and Yankee Magazine. His viral hit “Yoga for Yankees” has been viewed over 5 million times online. Fred, also known as humorist Ken Sheldon, is the author of “Welcome to Frost Heaves,” a collection of semi-true tales, rumors and outright lies from “the most under-appreciated town in New Hampshire.”

As part of the evening’s entertainment, Fred will introduce some of the local businesses in Frost Heaves, including the Frost Heaves House of Pizza and the Bait and Beauty Salon (now featuring the Shampoo and Shiner special). He’ll bring the latest news from Frost Heaves and introduce a few of the town’s notable citizens, including Sophie Hamilton, 94-year old organist at the Frost Heaves Community Church (“She’s slowing down,” says Fred), Homer and Elmer Cratchet (two brothers who are a few crackers shy of a full box) and the town clerk Edith “Telegraph” Wyer, among others.

The evening will also feature humorous songs and singalongs for those who feel so inspired. “You
