  • Driving Miss Daisy - Sept 27 - Oct 6

    September 27 – October 6

    This touching Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Alfred Uhry, spans the 25-year relationship between wealthy, strong-willed Southern matron, Daisy Werthan and her staunchly proud, yet soft spoken Black chauffeur, Hoke. In a series of absorbing scenes, the two, despite their mutual differences, grow ever closer to, and more dependent on, each other.  Winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Play, Driving Miss Daisy also won the Academy Award as the best film of 1989.

    Putnam Valley Middle School is having its annual spelling bee and a quirky collection of six pre-teens have made it to the finals. The bee, run by three capricious adults, finds the young participants sharing stories of their lives while spelling their way through the words on the road to that championship title. Winner of the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a delightful musical, complete with audience participation and is sure to tickle your “humerus

    The Cat in the Hat is back, and narrates this delightful blending of Dr. Seuss’s most famous tales. Horton, the elephant discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” The colorful character’s transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos as Horton faces a double challenge.
