Your Support Keeps Us Going!

2020 has been a challenging year – probably the most challenging – but your gifts and support allow us to continue the high quality entertainment we have been known for since 1986.

Because of the pandemic’s impact on the economy, taxpayers can deduct additional gifts before the end of the year. Even those who take the standard deduction in 2020 can still take a charitable deduction of up to $300 ($600 for a joint return) – thanks to a law change due to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act. It is an “above the line” adjustment to income that will reduce a donor’s adjusted gross income (AGI), and thereby reduce taxable income. A donation to a donor advised fund (DAF) does not qualify for this new deduction.

That same change also allows individuals who do itemize to deduct up to 100% of their AGI in qualified donations – up from 60%; while corporations may deduct up to 25% of taxable income, up from the previous limit of 10%. [More information about these changes at IRS.gov, or from your tax professional.]

With that in mind, and with generous hearts, we hope you may consider a year-end donation toward a coming year we hope will dawn with healthy possibilities – for yourselves, for our communities, and for the future here at the North Country Center for the Arts.
